This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with when you use The Pro Depot.

1. Who We Are

The Pro Depot is operated by Wandervest LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company doing business as The Pro Depot ("we," "us," or "our"). This Policy applies to our website at theprodepot.app and our mobile applications (together, the "Platform").

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

  • Account information: name, email address, password, and role (homeowner or contractor).
  • Profile information: for contractors, this may include company name, trades, service area, license and insurance details you choose to provide, bio, and portfolio images.
  • Project information: photos of your property or project, descriptions, timelines, and related details you submit to create a project.
  • Communications: messages and attachments you exchange with other users through the Platform, and messages you send to us.
  • Reviews and ratings you submit or receive.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage and device data: such as app interactions, log data, device type, and general location inferred from your IP address.
  • Cookies and similar technologies used to keep you signed in and to operate the Platform.

Payment information:

If you purchase a contractor subscription, payment is processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not collect or store your full payment-card number. We receive limited information such as your subscription status and billing period. The Pro Depot does not process or hold payments between homeowners and contractors; any such payment is arranged directly between those parties, outside of the Platform.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and profile.
  • To operate the core service: matching homeowners and contractors, enabling messaging, and facilitating project coordination.
  • To generate AI-assisted project scoping and estimates (see Section 4).
  • To process contractor subscriptions and send related billing communications.
  • To send transactional and service emails (such as application status, matches, and account notices).
  • To maintain safety and security, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
  • To improve and support the Platform.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. AI Processing of Your Content

The Platform uses third-party artificial-intelligence services to provide certain features. Specifically:

  • Project scoping and estimates: the project photos you upload and your project description are transmitted to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to help organize, scope, and estimate your project.

These providers process the content to return a result to us and are subject to their own terms and privacy practices. We share only what is needed to provide the feature. Please do not upload photos or information you do not want processed in this way.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Other users: To enable matching and communication. When you and another user mutually engage, relevant profile, project, and contact details are shared so you can coordinate. Contractors' profile information may be visible to homeowners, and project details are shared with interested contractors.
  • Supabase: Database, authentication, and file storage hosting (our backend infrastructure).
  • Stripe: Processing contractor subscription payments.
  • Resend: Sending transactional and service emails.
  • Anthropic: AI-assisted project scoping and estimates from your photos and descriptions.
  • Legal / safety: When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or us.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required or permitted by law. Some content shared with other users (such as messages) may remain visible to those users.

7. Your Choices and Rights

  • You can review and update your account and profile information at any time.
  • You can request deletion of your account by contacting us at support@theprodepot.app.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
  • You can opt out of non-essential emails using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us; we may still send essential service messages.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as posting the updated Policy with a new "Last updated" date or notifying you in the app.
